Representation: Have you subverted or conform to stereotypes typical of your genre? Take some screen shots of characters from yours and compare to screen shots from characters of other trailer. Write an analysis of the representation in your trailer.
In our film we have subverted against the general stereotype as our film is a about a kidnapping film and in the film we kidnap callum in the car park we tie him up and put him in the car boot and we keep him as hostile and drive off with him. This is a typical action thriller film as it has a lot of violence in it similar to a film like taken which has those conventions in it . in our film callum does not expect to get kidnapped while he is casually walking to the car in the car park when the villains rush up to him and capture him and tie him up and boot him in their car boot and drive of with him. Then his brother has to pay a certain amount of money to get him back or he will die. That scene is very typical to happen in a action film where the protagonist is taken away from the antagonist in the film.
In our film these two characters are very similar as they both are in trouble where some close is kidnapped from them and they have to pay to get them back that is why i think callum chambers is very similar to liam neeson in our film. They have two to pay a certain amount of money to get who they want back, as they are both the protagonist. They are both very busy businessmen in our film and quiet rich and wealthy and have quite a lot of authority. They both were really smart clothes and act very smart so you can tell what sort of character they are from the picture. In this picture they are both on the phone talking to the antagonist who stole someone away from them and they are asking how to get them back. Liam neeson in taken is in a lot of trouble because his daughter was kidnapped from a gang and he has to try and save her and he gets a phone call from them saying that if you want your daughter back you have to pay up, and he says if i find you i will kill you. Callum chambers and liam neeson are very different in many ways as liam neeson is a very confident person in the way he talks and he is not scared of anyone and he is very vocal and when he speaks to the antagonist he has a lot of confidence in backing up what he says. Callum is very quiet and does not really speak much and he does what he is told and he knows that if he does not get the job done than their will be consequences.

Explore your use of sound. How does your use of sound compare with trailers of similar genres?
In our film i think that our sound is very effective because in one scene where callum is walking to the car the sound is very low beat than it goes to a high beat, which makes it more intense in that bit and the audience could almost feel the tension in the film because know that something is about to happen which does as he just get kidnapped after that bit. We also have birds in the background honing as luke is just to pick up the phone when he is in the car which adds more tension as he says that he needs the job done as soon as he can. Than when the key drops on the floor it makes a loud sound because you do not expect it straight away after he just got kidnapped and than the music gets intense and it fades in and out whilst they talk as they are in a hurry to do it. Than it goes to the bit when their is an unknown number which is effective because it sought of catches the audience out as they do not expect everything to happen so fast. When ghalib speaks in the part when he is on the phone to callum he speaks in a high voice with a high intensity whilst speaking slow, i think that is very effective because it tells the audience that he is in a rush and he needs the money immediately and if he he doesn't get it quick he will suffer so that tells the audience he demands it a lot. At the end of the trailer as it about to end the last scene the music is very intense and very dramatic and you can feel as an audience member that something is about to happen than all of the sudden he shoots the gun and kills him which makes a massive bang to kill him.
Use of titles: How did you use titles and how did they advertise your film in your trailer?

I think that the titles in the film is very effective because throughout the film the titles kept fading in and out constantly to tell you when the film is and when it comes out and what about the film is about. I think that after something significant happened in the film it told you something about the film or what was about to happen in it and i thought that was very clever because it told the audience what is going on at all times. They kept fading in in black and white which was very good because it was clear and you could read it straight away ads it stood out and there was no dull colours that you could not read all of them where clear. In our film we used coolvetica text to make our titles clear we thought that it made it more clear and it allowed you to make the fade how you wanted in many different ways.
How like film posters and magazines are your ancillary texts? Do some comparisons of your own compared to examples of real versions.
I think are magazine poster is very different layout to the empire one but they both stand out in different unique ways. They both have bold titles at the top of the page in saying what brand their magazine poster is about. This is a magazine poster which have many different similarities which have information about the movie. The poster have information about the film and what is about and all the key dates that need to know about the film when it comes out and what it is actually about. I think the font on our magazine poster is very clear and it stands out it is black and white so it is quiet eye catching and you can notice it from a distance. It tells you a few quotes about the film and what is about and what you expect to see in it i think that stands out to the audience because it has quotes about it and it says that is unmissable and that it is a must out. In the middle of the page it has the main characters of the film and the protagonist which tells you a bit about the character and who is in the film. they both also have the date of the film and price to tell you how much it is. On our magazine if you buy it you will get a free poster which grabs the audience attention because they feel like they will get something extra with it for the price their getting like it is 2 for 1 which makes them feel closer to the film as well and feel more involved.

How have you made your trailer seem like a trailer? Take at least twelve snips and write up why these moments are significant and their appeal to the target audience.
This is a very significant scene in the film at the start of the trailer when the businessman tells his team what he wants done and that he wants a job to be done in the next couple of days after he calculated it on a piece of paper before he makes the phone call at this point the audience are intrigued because they do not know what he wants done so it is very interesting from an audience point of view at this moment.

This tells the audience what the film is kind of about when the receives a phone call from the businessman and he tells him that he needs a job done and that he needed to pay 40 thousand pounds in order to do his job. This effective because you can tell from lukes costume that he is a villian in terms of what he is wearing and he looks quite dangerous and you sought of know he can get the job done from the amount of money he is demanding from the businessman.

At this point callum is just paying at the machine and he does not really know what is about to happen to him and that's when the dramatic music goes on it starts of quiet slowly at this point when he was paying in the machine. At that point their is a significant moment as he is paying their is a it goes from a long range shot to zoom completely in him to show his facial expression which suggests to the audience that he does not expect what is just about to happen.

At this point it is quiet intense as he is just casually walking slowly to his car and the music goes in quietly intense and you could feel the tension within the film and as an audience member you feel like something is just about to happen very soon.

At this point he is just approaching the car as the intensive dramatic slow music is about to stop and he is not aware what is just about to happen. At this point this is asking the audience questions because they dont something to happen as he is outside the car they think as soon as he gets in the car he is going to crash or something.

At this point it goes completely silent really quickly and the baddies go and grab him at a fast speed and he is unaware of what just happened as it happens in a quick second and the audience kind of know at this point that he is in major trouble.

Then the key drops and their is just a close up on the key in a quick second and the audience are questioning themselves of what just happened because they sought of think that maybe calllum beat the baddies up and they dropped the key accidently. Than it goes into a quick close up of the key on the floor to show that something bad is about to happen. When the key dropped it made a massive crash sign to suggest that it was a really loud bang and that grabs more tension towards the audience and the characters they almost feel part of it and intrigued.

At this point straight after the key made a crash on the floor and new high intense music comes on in the background to suggest like they are in a rush to get the job done whilst they put him in the boot this is a significant part in the film because the audience know that they got the job done, when they closed the boot it made a massive bang.

This is the point when the businessman rings callum to tell him the bad news he is expecting a call at this point the call is very loud it says unknown caller and it says that it is unknown call and their is a close up to suggest that the business man does not want to give any information away to him and he goes to pick it up.

This is the point when the businessman rings callum to tell him the bad news that he has his brother and he kidnapped him and that he has him to randsome and if he wants his brother back he has to pay him the amount of money he wants and that he demand this money and if he does not get this money he will suffer. In this moment there is a close up on callum to show is facial expression and he is very worried about what is happened to his brother and he is just taking in the news. There was a quick fade out and in from the phone was ringing to him on the phone which was effective because it showed he was in a rush to pick up as he was in tension because he wanted to know where his brother is.

This is when he is just about to see his brother and whilst he is walking in to the flat the music goes intense and dramatic and their is a close up of him just about to lift the bag from his head and the audience at this moment feel like at this point that something bad is just about to happen.

This is the last scene when he just lifts the mask and their is a close up on them and then he is just about to get shot. This is a significant part in the film because he dies and the whole storyline of the film was unrevield and their is a massive bang when he shoots him to end him.

Institution Analysis: What sort of company would have made your film? How did you create your own production titles and how did you place them conventionally in your trailer?

In our film we used pixel films and london films as our production titles we use pixel films in the beginning of our film as we were just about start our film where we created it on adobe and we used birds in the backgrougs and it made a sound of them and than the pixel film was fading in. I think that this is effective because it is very clear and unordinary wich makes it unique. We used london films straight after the pixel films which is our production tittle i think that stands out as it has a picture of the tower bridge with a black background and black and white title fading out saying london films which makes it very clear for the audience to see. we made our london films tittle in adobe as well we got the picture of google and added the writing on adobe and changed the colour a bit of the picture to make it look a bit more bright and effective. Yes we did place them conventionally in the film as we did not use it a lot we only put them at the start of the trailer so it was not use to many times. I think that both of our titles are clear and very effective as they grab the audience attention and it is very clear to them.
